When I turned 40 my husband told me to jump out of an airplane.
So I did.
Actually, I requested a skydiving adventure for my birthday gift
and although he had reservations, he complied.
This week, Austrian Felix Baumgartner did his own jump
and I am incensed that Felix got worldwide press
when our experiences were so similar.
Consider:
vehicles
Okay, so he jumped from 120,000 feet
and I jumped from 13,000.
What's a few feet among daredevils?
He was wearing a spacesuit
I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
Some of us aren't scared of a little cold and lack of oxygen.
He had 5 minutes of free fall
I had 1 minute of free fall that felt like an hour
Felix was sponsored by Red Bull
I was sponsored by a nervous husband
He landed on the ground
So did I
He'll never do it again.
Neither will I.

You are such a daredevil.
I think even a minute would get boring really quickly. That's why I dislike para-sailing. "Hooray, I am being pulled by a boat in the air." and then "So... now what?!"
Difference between you and Baumgartner is that you looked GOOD doing it!
Sheesh. You deserved some press, for sure.
;)
Okay. Wait. You're lovely, smart, funny, intuitive, talented AND you jumped from an airplane? He's got nothing on you, babe.
I'd say you're both crazy!
I'm in awe of you. You're front page news in my book for sure! I don't even want to stand on a ladder, let alone jump into the clear blue.
I agree with Dixie Mom!
You did THAT???? You are amazing - and a little crazy (or just very suggestible!)and I'll be you loved every second.
That always sounds like it would be a lot of fun but I don't anticipate that I would ever have the nerve to do it. I have a little height problem. But it would be really great to say I had done it. One of those dream feats that will probably never happen.
This is your mother...You did what?!!!
