This building used to house a music store where we bought
the tall boy's cello, strings and rosin.
It is nestled cozily next to a Circle K
(where you can get a thirstbuster for $.79 in an insulated cup)
but now it fills a higher calling.
I get goosebumps when I drive by...
just like I used to when I went in the music store
and heard the brand new violin students
sawing away on their screechy E strings.

Oh man - I well remember Angie's (daughter) first violin practices at about 10. I wanted her to take piano, but she had a stubborn mind of her own which she hasn't 'shookened' off yet and chose the violin. Now she plays in a Philharmonic Orchestra in Georgetown (DC). She just likes to one-up me. I think I've been past that building. But I didn't have time to read the big 'M' word.
Reminds me of when I was growing up in Paradise Valley and would drive by Neil Frisby's House of Healing. I think it may still be there. Now I want a Diet Coke
haha
I could use a little new order psychic action...
;)
I'm guessing that the Catholics down the street were too strict?
I wonder how this would fly up here in our diocese? I'm betting that with as wacky as things are here on the left coast, there just might be a following!
I pass this place everyday on my way to and from work and also went there when it was a music store. Seems so weird that they call themselves an Esoteric Catholic Church. Huh? What is that?
I don't even know what that is... Catholics with Tarot cards?
In answer to your question on my blog...Mexican Restaurant is Las Favoritas at Cooper and Ray in Gilbert next to the old Albertsons building that has been empty since it closed 3-4 years ago. Yes, I am close by.. live in Gilbert, work in Mesa. Love your blog because it makes me smile.
Hey. Don't knock the whole psychic thing. It worked out pretty good for Shawn and Gus. :)
E strings are the worst. And I cannot figure out for the life of me what this store really is now. Is it a church? Is it a psychic? Is it a health spa for the Christian who wants to reach the undead (using dead sea salts, naturally)? I am so confused.
Catholic, not Christian. Sorry.
What is it about that store that I find so funny? I agree.
Catholic? Not in any way shape or form..
I have no idea what that place is, what is it?! There are too many words on that sign that don't go together!
It is amazing how time changes places. One day everything is one way and when you wake up it is all different.
