My Lost Friend

I've lost my camera!

The last time I remember using it was when I surreptitiously took a rear view shot of the 400 lb. man wearing low riding gangster shorts and an enormous white t-shirt riding a mini bike in the Safeway parking lot.  I promise you would have liked it.

The camera was old, but like all old friends was extremely trustworthy.  Now, alas I'm afraid it is gone forever.  But, if you come across a Canon powershot that contains, but is not limited to, these precious memories frozen on my memory card...
  • a blurry image of Elvis pumping gas in Clovis, New Mexico
  • 893 shots of my adorable grandchildren
  • a darling image of my freshly painted toenails, including the super-long second toe on my right foot that I can do tricks with
  • several humbling self portraits
  • a damning shot of John Stamos cutting in line at Disneyland
and return it, I'll take you to lunch at Tia Rosa's

You are taking it so well. I blubbered like a baby when I misplaced my camera. And it sounds like you've got some gems on there.

Oh, man. I don't even want to imagine how that feels. Hope you get a new one soon.

I know a sure way to find your camera. Are you ready? Go buy a new one and the other one will magically appear. At least that is the kind of thing that happens to me.

PS. I do hate losing things...*sigh*

You'll find it...with your attitude...it will bounce back into your lap when you least expect it.
Your blog is cute and inspiring and filled with energy. I read your comment on Pondside's post today.
Thanks loads.

As I live in Georgia, finding your camera would be a real trick. I'd sure love to have lunch with you, though. We'd never stop laughing. :)

With that kind of deal, I am already packed to leave and I am walking out the door as sooon as my coffee finishes brewing to come help you look for your camera. I have invented a Ghost Busters (the movie) type apparatus that specificaLLy looks for lost cameras, digital OR film! There are two things I don't fuLLy understand though, is how the machine can detect a lost camera, and even more amazing is how the camera sends out an "I'm lost!!!" signal. After several hours of pain staking research I believe the camera emits an odor rather than an electromagnetic/radio signal. So maybe in the future we can train dogs to find lost cameras! I am not sure what the breed would be caLLed that would have this special ability.

I'd like to be able to do some sort of ESP trick and find your camera and then come down for a meal at that interestingly-named restaurant (why does Aunt Rose's sound SO much more interesting in another language??)
My best advice, though, is what someone else has already said - buy another one and the lost one will show up a day after the return period expires.

oh no! I want to see those pictures. Any chance it is in Utah? I will look for it. Disneyland brings out the worst in people. Ruby wanted to ride the pink tea cup...we got the yellow one the first ride and she insisted we had to go again to get the pink one--well, I raced two little girls for that pink tea cup and almost pushed them out of the way to get it--there was NO way I could ride that ride 3 times...2 was pushing it!!

If I am able to replicate all the photos you're missing, will you take me to lunch? Except your grandkids might have to be replaced by random Aussie children. I'm sorry you lost your camera. I agree with Connie's approach.
