Low Hanging Fruit From the Dollar Tree

Week after week Larainy has bided her time, biting her lip each time you smug bloggers have been approached by sponsors who have given you fabulous products like
 hemorrhoid cream
and

 kitty litter

just so you could test the product and tell your readers about it.
Well I am fed up trying to sell my soul to "the man" for corporate sponsorship.  I have taken control of my destiny.  I am grabbing the brass ring, I am doing it my way, I am...

short time later

I am feeling much better after a short nap.

You are probably familiar with this fine retail establishment.  You may be planning a shopping trip to purchase a bag of cotton candy or praying hands made of chocolate for your child's Easter basket.  (WARNING: stay away from the canned ham.)

I am starting a new feature which I am going to call:

Low Hanging Fruit From Dollar Tree

From time to time I am going to choose an intriguing product, purchase it with my own dollar (to avoid coddling corporate creatures) and review it for you, my dear reader, so you don't waste your hard-earned cash on an inferior product.

Our debut product is an intriguing toy called the "Grow Snake".

The Grow Snake promises an increase in size by soaking in water.  The longer you soak it, the more terrifying it becomes.
I am pleased to report that our little snake began to grow that very first night.  At breakfast time he put us off our scrambled eggs
and by dinner time he was drinking out Nixon's water bin.

Nixon performs a canine terror assessment

Nixon is obviously frightened out of his razor sharp doggie mind.

Nixon sending doggy mind-signal warnings of extreme danger

Pound for pound I found the grow snake to be a slimy success.

GROW SNAKE RATING = 95 CENTS

I can tell this is going to be a series I can sink my teeth into. Where were you when I needed a present for Hyrum's birthday a few weeks ago? Woulda been perfect.

Now, why can't you just live next door to me?

Finally! A trustworthy, reliable, unbiased opinion! I once wasted a whole dollar on a glow in the dark tumbler, You know, for drinking rum and coke late at night on the back patio with the lights off as to not attract mosquitos? Did not glow. That's 100 pennies I'll never get back. Nixon looks extremely dangerous, has he had his rabies shot lately?

Does Nixon give lessons? My little doxy could use some. :)

I have to remember to go pee before I visit your blog. Really, I should know better by now. Too, to funny! And you KNOW you have my undying devotion forever, because Nixon is amazing! What a great dog! No wonder you adore him.

Nice review. I am totally getting one. Of course with CA fees, taxes and gas (I have yet to find a Dollar Tree here, maybe Cucamonga?), it will probably be a whoooing buck and a half. Still a good deal for the numerous grand boys!

Wow, my life is now so much the better for knowing that I can purchase one of those beauties for a mere $1.08 (sales tax here in WA).

I can't wait to see what product you preview next!!!!
Sooooo excited.

That Nixon is one smart dog, he saw right through that one.

I did not know you had a Beagle!
I love Beagles... just the best dogs.
How do you get Nixon to stay put without a leash, or is that a fenced yard you have?

Ha! Great post! But no thanx, that thing would freak me out way too much!

Way to stick up for those of us who aren't sponsored! Although I am a little skeptical of your growing snake, as I was suckered into buying a very similar growing lizard from Dollar Tree, which did not grow one bit.

I'm so glad I know how much to spend on one of those snakes now! Phew! Are we allowed to suggest products?? :P

Oh man, I was hoping for some corporate sponsorship also. Guess I better start digging for the change in the couch.

Well, I already like the Dollar Store. Can't say I like the snake but it did perform, didn't it? I look forward to this informative series.
