Memories are Made of Chicken

Maybe it's because I weep with pleasure while I drink their milkshakes, maybe it's because I blush when the cashier says "My pleasure".  I don't know why Chik-fil-A sends me darling little invitations via text message entitling me to special events, and I don't like to brag,

Do you know that nearly every month I receive a top secret code word via text message that entitles me to two-for-one milkshakes?  All I have to do is  lean across the counter crook my finger and whisper "milkshake madness" in my most sultry tone into the trembling ear of a Chik-fil-A employee who will swallow noisily, obey my will, and hand over two chocolate milkshakes for a pittance.

Last week came the most thrilling invitation yet...a summons to an exclusive mother/son, reservations only dinner.  What better gift to give my graduating senior than a night of bonding with mother before he is ripped away to make his lonely journey in academia.

Of course, formal dress is required

A prime parking spot was reserved in our honor

We were greeted by a celebrity hostess
(my son's classmate, who looked puzzled when I asked to take her picture)

 Nonspeaking cows were on hand

Flowers bloomed at every table

We were starry eyed at the ambience

We drew pictures of each other

He drew me with his eyes closed

It was night never to be forgotten.

Holy cow, you are practically a celebrity in the world of chicken! If you ever find yourself with one of those 2 for 1 milkshake coupons and standing all by yourself, feel free to text me. I can be fancy too.

I loved that you dressed up. You, my bloggy friend, are quite artistic. Nice portrait of son...So cool that you took a picture of the hostess at Chick-fil-A. (Evidently she doesn't have a blog or she'd understand.) The stars ON your eyes are stellar. I trust this will be a moment your son will treasure as much as you. You are adorable.

Oh how I wish I would have been in the next booth over. I am sure you two were the entertainment for the evening..all starry eyed.

We don't have Chick-fil-A's where we live :( Could you please use your power and influence (after all you do get personal text messages from them) to let us here in the Northwest have the pleasure of such fine dining? Pretty please?

I loved this - it was something I would do with my youngest "boy." We do enjoy our fun together as, it appears, you and your son do too.

This is so fun. I lived in Georgia for like five minutes in a previous life....ok, it was more like six months. Long enough to find out that this Minnesota gal was not cut out for the south. But one thing I miss terribly is Chik-fil-A. I want to crawl through the screen and be the third wheel of your hot date. ;) Happy belated Mother's day to you!

I LOVE Chik-fil-A. My favorite fast food. How do I get in on this secret code/dress for dinner stuff? Don't they know how loyal I am? Why have I been snubbed? I even order the chicken soup in the heat of summer, for pity's sake.

Y'all look awesome! Love the drawn pics.

Sometimes I just can not believe the serendipity of life. I just got invited to a mother's day celebration lunch last week by my sweet DIL and grand daughters. It was the first time ever!

My DIL went on and on about how she should be a rep for chick-fill-a's because she loves everything about it so much. And now this ringing endorsement!

Where is the nearest one to our neighborhood and how do I get the email secret codes?

One more thing, the grand daughters took their toy to the counter and they traded it for a soft ice cream cone. Couldn't quite believe my eyes!

That is a very Picasso-esque picture your son drew. I'd throw a frame around it and take it to the nearest art fair. Maybe he can closed-eye draw his way through school...and if they don't sell, he can use them when the Walgreens TP runs out. ;)
