Shuttered Secrets

Once in a blue moon
when the planets are aligned
or when we walk into a swirl of pixie dust,
or if we have been very, very good...
there comes into our life,
images taken by a  photographer so skilled,
that one click of a magical shutter
has captured the secrets we all try to hide

My name is Chrissy and I carry  spare socks in my hair

Contrary to appearances, no one in the Purvis family can dance, but Patty is a darn good seamstress.

Everyone at work thinks I listen to country western music but nothing gets my heart pumping like the squelchy disco-tinged electro of Icelandic artists Silver Columns.

That sweet little bow-bedecked candy cane in Sybil's lap
is actually what she uses to keep
Gloria and me under her thumb.
Mother doesn't know it,
but our big sister hasn't cleaned a toilet in six years.

A childhood friend of Elvis, Kirk showed the king how to pop his collar, earning Presley's never ending devotion and a permanent job as head gamekeeper at Graceland.

Thor thought his name created a harsh impression and tried to soften it with a sensitive hairstyle

In a subtle passive aggressive symbol of favoritism, Mother said Arnold could wear the Santa hat because he was the oldest

Sueann dresses like a Texas Republican, but her black cat knows about her wild Wiccan weekends in Waco.

Dave doesn't like to fill out forms,
so he came up with an intensely informative
biographical profile picture for E-Harmony.

Thor definitely got it right with his hair choice.

And I love Dave's photographic self-disclosure.

Oooohhh... The books and bird guy is by far the creepiest. I mean, what kind of grown man goes to have his professional photo taken BY HIMSELF, much less with 20 science books, a cockatiel, a keyboard, AND A TEACUP?!

Hello! Thanks for popping over to my Project 365 blog. I love this post. That guy is holding a teacup from my grandmother's cabinet! lol

Where do you find these pictures?!? I agree with Anna M above - there are some family photos hidden deep away that I'm afraid will come to light on your blog. Wakes me up at night.

Oh, Oh my! Where do I begin?

That first girls hair is a masterpiece. It has reached levels of amazingness that I'm afraid can NEVER be duplicated. I've never seen anything more perfectly coiffed.

You named the little Asian boy Arnold. I don't know WHY that cracked me up so much, but it did. It just seemed so appropriate.

And the last guy, he of the tea cup and computer keyboard fame. I'm pretty sure you hit the picture jackpot with that one. Gold I tell ya, GOLD! WHO does that? BEST picture EVER!

Thanks for this laugh, 'cause there was certainly a LAUGH!
